Technical Guide Number Four - Sure-Chek Healthcare Fabrics
"Sure-Chek" fabrics are manufactured by Herculite products, and were formerly marketed under the name "Staph-Chek". In this guide, the test results for "Sure-Chek XL", widely used in hospitals throughout Australia, are compared to the NSW Supplies Office specification for PVC mattress covers. The anti-bacterial characteristics of the fabrics are explained, supported by bacteriastasis test results. The elastic properties of fabrics designed for pressure reduction mattresses, and relevant data on moisture vapour transmission, thermal conductivity, and electrostatic resistance presented.
