Technical Guide Number Six - Needle Punched Polypropylene Carpet
Commonly referred to as "indoor/outdoor" carpet, needle-punched polypropylene has characteristics that make it suited for some commercial applications, particularly where hygiene is an issue. In this guide, independent test results for the "Avondale" range of carpet , manufactured by Autex Industries of New Zealand, are compared to the tough Hospital and Healthcare Specification, prepared by the AWTA Testing Authority of Melbourne. An assessment of the characteristics of the different fibres used commonly used in carpet, and the impact on finished product performance, is included.
