Technical Guide Number Nine - Marine Fabrics & Fasteners
This guide contains a comparison of the physical properties and likely field performance of the most commonly used marine fabrics - Nylex Marina Boat Hooding , Sunbrella (Acrylic) and Sunbrella plus (polyurethane coated acrylic) and Herculite 2000- based on an exhaustive testing programme devised by the AWTA Testing Authority. The tests include UV-A radiation, hydrostatic resistance and water repellence. Similar tests are conducted on auto seating fabric, leather and tonneau. Collated in the same guide is data related to ancillary items including Sunguard thread, YKK zippers, and Carr Fastener products (e.g eyelets and tonneau loops).
