Designed for use by specifiers, this guide compares the product specifications of the contract vinyl manufacturers Nylex and Spradling with AS 1440 - 1973 "Vinyl (PVC) coated fabrics for upholstery and other purposes". Although superseded, most of the test methods are still relevant. The significance of Urethane coatings, UV inhibitors and other additives is discussed; and tests that demonstrate the resultant impact on abrasion, stain resistance and bacterial/fungal growth are included.
